Just listen for barks and the sea lions' play, I’m right next door where they splash all day!, I’m a spot for tiny explorers, brave and bold, Where petting soft creatures, never gets old. Little hooves and gentle noses, a friendly scene, A place to learn and touch, what does it mean?, I hold treats and tissues, side by side, In a quiet room, where families hide. A silent helper, when needs arise, Near the bustling rainforest, you’ll surmise., Where animals only run left At 36 feet I’ve got heft Running all day without moving feet These animals at the zoo do not eat., I am a place for kids to run and play, Where you can act like an animal all day. You can swing, climb, or jump with glee, In a wild world made for you and me!, I’m a giant house made of glass and of stone, Where animals from the tropics have a home. Step through my doors and leave the dry air, A humid green world is waiting in there!, I hail from the coasts of the African shore, Where I waddle and hop and explore even more. With a bray like a donkey and a suit black and white, I’m a flightless sea-bird who is quite a grand sight!, I’m a giant of the land, so tall and so wide, With a long, gray trunk and a very thick hide. Come see my barn, I'm a massive sight, The biggest land creature with all of my might!, I’m a big building where you come to learn, With facts about animals at every turn! Inside my classrooms, discovery is key, To help you understand nature and all you can see., I’m a clever cousin with a hairy face, Who loves to climb all over the place. We swing and we play in a group so fine, See our connection to your family line!, I’m a slow-moving giant with a shell on my back, I take my own house on every track. I can live for a century, maybe much more, Find me creeping slowly along the zoo floor!, At the end of this Trek hall so grand, Are wonders not found on the dry, dusty land. Step past the glass to a world of deep blue, Where shimmering fish are all waiting for you! and A place for what comes from the earth, And finds new purpose and rebirth, To trade things grown old, Beside animals that enjoy the cold.
