I just do not understand how students can be this irresponsible!

The department expects my grades before that date!
I tell students from the 1st week of class there will be no exceptions!
I can reweigh the test but I do not offer make-ups!
There are limited Teaching Assistant hours for this course!
This is going beyond accommodations!
Do you know how much work goes into writing a make-up test?
It feels like there is an explosion of disability issues these days!
But group work will be expected in their field!
Attendance is mandatory in my class!
Accommodating that would not be fair to the other students!
They are supposed to ask in advance for an extension!
The student needs to contact me directly for any requests!
This is a matter of academic integrity though!

I could not get away with this behavior when I was in school!
