  3. Report the behavior, location, and child’s age to the Leadership Team.
  4. Give a clear, calm summary to EMS when they arrive.
  5. Take attendance once your group reaches the muster point
  6. Listen for instructions from campus security or the fire department.
  7. Ensure no one returns to the building for personal belongings.
  8. Check Grouplist to see if the child was signed out for early pickup.
  9. Stay with your group while other staff assist in the search.
  10. Record the timeline of when the child was last seen.
  11. Contact the Leadership Team with the child’s name, description, and last known location.
  12. Lead your group calmly to the nearest fire exit —never use the elevator.
  13. Call 911 and contact the Leadership Team immediately
  14. After 30 minutes, parents/guardian s and Winnipeg Police will be contacted.
  15. Stay with the child while another staff member removes the group if needed.
  16. If child is unresponsive or having a seizure, activate Code Blue and begin care.
  17. Record the exact time you noticed the child was missing.
  18. Maintain group order and keep chatter to a minimum once outside.
  19. Offer the child space to cool down before continuing the conversation.
  20. Leadership will intervene and attempt to resolve the behavior through conversation.
  21. Do not re-enter the building until the all-clear is given by emergency personnel.
  22. Retrieve the participant’s medication from the med bag or med box if relevant.
  23. Do not move the participant; provide first aid and wait for support.
  24. After the all-clear is given, calmly return to your program location and re-establish group routine.
